Fiona is a dynamic piano teacher currently residing in Kitchener, Ontario where she runs a vibrant independent piano teaching studio. She has been teaching piano lessons privately to students of all ages and levels for 27 years. For the past 15 years, she has enjoyed teaching creatively to over 500 students kids in group settings, including group keyboard classes through the Music For Young Children (MYC) program. In addition , she had also taught babies and toddlers in the Music Pups program for 9 years .
Fiona is a talented pianist and holds a Licentiate in Piano (Performers) through the Trinity College of Music, London. She is also a certified Music For Young Children teacher (MYCC) having completed her training for all the three levels of the program. She is a Registered Music Teacher (RMT) and a member of the KW-ORMTA. and has served as Secretary to the KW-ORMTA branch. She is also an RCM Teacher Specialist - Elementary /Intermediate Piano and Rudiments.
Fiona loves teaching and strives to bring out the best in every child ! Her lessons are fun and engaging and creative using technology, hands on interactive aides , games, activities etc. Kids love coming to their lessons and there is always a high positive energy in the studio. Through the Covid crisis, she worked hard and maintained a high level of interaction and engagement with the students via online learning and has a 98% return rate for the fall ! She is proud of her students who have even taken online RCM exams and fared very well. She is impressed with the resilience of her students and will continue to try and inspire and motivate them through these challenging times.
Fiona is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Association. (CFMTA). and TONS of online communities of exciting teachers ! She actively seeks to stay current and further her professional development as a teacher by regularly attending music teacher association events as well as national and state conferences in Canada and the U.S.

Shaelie has been teaching at the studio 5 years ago and loves working with kids. She has taught as camp counsellor for VBS, City of Kitchener, Little Med School, Anchor camp and has vast experience working with kids. She is patient and kind and knows how to get the best out of her students. Shaelie transitioned to online lessons seamlessly. Her creativity knows no bounds.She initiated a practice incentive that the kids LOVED and got them practising regularly even through the lockdown. Students love working with Shaelie and enjoy her soft nature and sense of humour and her unique style of teaching - classical interspersed with Pop/Rock/Jazz/Blues . Shaelie is a talented and accomplished pianist having completed her Grade 10 in Piano. She has won several awards in the Kiwanis music festival for her piano performances during her musical journey! Shaelie loves classical music but enjoys jazz and contemporary as well. She was heavily involved in music at her school where she performs and accompanies students at coffee houses and music nights ! She has also completed her Grade 6 in Vocal Studies and is currently pursuing her Grade 8 in vocal as well. A beautiful singer, she won several prizes for her solo performances in the Kiwanis festival as well. Her love for singing is evident when you hear her as a Soprano in the Grand Philharmonic Choir and cantoring in her church ! Her other interests reflect her strong leadership qualities - She has been a member of DECA for 5 years and made it to Provincials most years. And she was involved in Student Senate in high school and now with Student Ministries in University !
Lauren began teaching at the studio 3 years ago and is a popular young teacher in the studio. She is GREAT with young kids and brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to her lessons. Kids of all ages LOVE their lessons with Lauren be it online or in person. Her creativity and passion for her teaching is evident for all to see. Lauren completed her Grade 8 piano at the age of 13 with a whopping 88% in piano and 98% in theory. She is a very talented pianist having won several awards in the KW and Stratford Kiwanis festivals as well.Her many interests include singing, sports especially soccer having played on the rep team for 8 years. She is a strong leader who has run for CO- Prez, been on several high school clubs and has recently also taken on the role of CEO of a non-profit Different abilities which strives to bring about awareness of people of all abilities.
Lauren has worked as Camp counsellor for VBS for several years, in the studio, as well as for Anchor Camp. She has a 100% return rate this year 2020 even through the Covid crisis, confirming her student families trust in her. She works hard to bring about the best in each child and will often go the extra mile in helping them along their journey. Her versatility as a teacher is great to see as her students repertoire also include ensemble playing and singing and playing too.
